Start 10, Arrival 10 → Aim 0 (corner).

The cue ball starts in front of the short cushion, aims at the part of the long cushion near the corner, goes to the opposite short cushion, comes back to the start cushion (3rd cushion) and reaches the opposite short cushion again (4th cushion). It is usually used for positions left by the opponent's defensive play, with two balls lying on the opposite short cushion. The system's name comes from the start and arrival numberings beginning at the value 5. It can be played as a bricole or taking a ball fraction on ball 2.

When? When the cue ball is near one short cushion and the target is on the opposite short cushion (4th cushion); when the long–short–short–short path is to be played without spin.

Watch outThe system is defined only for cases where Arrival ≥ Start.

Watch outBecause the Start 5 (corner) line is very close to the long cushion, it cannot be used unless the cue ball is right in front of the cushion.

Watch outThe paths in the diagrams are schematic trajectories built with ideal reflection.
