Spin 0: Aim = 3 × 7 = 21.

The cue ball starts in front of the long cushion, aims at the short cushion, comes back off the opposite long cushion and arrives on the 3rd cushion at the short cushion on the start side. The aim value is the product of the start and the arrival. Because the cue ball follows a long path, and taking a ball fraction becomes difficult when ball 1 and ball 2 are far apart, positions of this type are mostly played as bricoles. The system is taught with two numberings (variants): in one, the arrival scale is 4–5.5–7–8.5–10 and there are spin steps; in the other, the arrival scale is 4–5–7–9 and it is played without spin.

When? When the cue ball is in front of a long cushion and ball 2 or ball 3 is near the short cushion; for the short–long–short path.

Watch outIf the aim goes past 40, the aim point falls beyond the opposite corner; in this case the system cannot be used.

Watch outThe paths in the diagrams are schematic trajectories built with ideal reflection.
